Blumilk takes the WIN and a 4th on the same day…

It may have felt like a slow start to the racing season for some in the blumilk.com race team this year, but behind the scenes there’s been a lot of hard work and training, which has resulted in some great rewards for many of our riders.

After suffering from Covid earlier this year, Christopher Wayman wanted to get back on to the road and back to full fitness. On the weekend of 18th June he took part in a time trial in Northumberland, with a strong field of road riders.

On the day of the event, there was a strong westerly head wind which meant it was tough to increase and maintain speed. At the half way point he was averaging 25mph which was on course for a sub 2 hours finish, maintaining his pace from the same event back in 2021.

In the last 3rd of the race Wayman faded a little, but still managed to achieve 4th place with a time of 2:03:35 averaging a speed of 24.2mph which was a great achievement and has made all the training worthwhile!

In addition to all the usual TT action, it was also the last round of the NE XCMTB series sponsored by Scott UK, in which Blumilk.com’s Simon Muir came away with the series lead in the male grand events category, as well as bagging two wins throughout the series.

And to complete our hat-trick of success, Blumilk’s very own James took 3rd place in the series for the seniors category.

Congratualtions to all three riders!
