New Website for The Alnwick Garden

New Website for The Alnwick Garden

Last month, we had the privilege of launching the new Alnwick Garden website. Visitors have always been the Garden’s number one priority and believed that their current website wasn’t offering the best user experience. The Garden worked with Blumilk to re-assess the customer journey, the visuals of the website and showcase what the Garden has to offer.

The main aim of the project was to place them as one of the top regional tourist destinations and wanted the website to reflect this.

Among so many beautiful attractions, The Alnwick Garden is home to a small but deadly Poison Garden:

From a more technical side, a new Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) had begun to be implemented to streamline how customer tickets are purchased. They needed to integrate this into their website so all systems communicated with each other creating a seamless experience for customer and staff. To achieve this, Blumilk needed to create bespoke API that facilitated this change.

The Garden also wanted to ensure that the website highlighted the charitable side of the organisation as they invest a great deal of time and resource in the Alnwick community, which they did not feel was at the forefront of their offering. To achieve this, we brought the charity arm into the same hierarchy as the other services that they offer and provided a timetable of community activities in a clear and concise way.

The website has been incredibly well-received by all that have used it so far and we really hope to see increased traffic and ticket sales in the coming months.

Darren Mayne, Head of Commercial said:

“From the very start we found Blumilk listened to the brief, engaged with our organisation throughout the process, and when appropriate challenged us to ensure that we delivered the best that we could.

Despite some unforeseen technical challenges caused by a third party, Blumilk dealt with these challenges with aplomb and technical skill.

The project came in on time and budget, and we will using Blumilk again!”

Blumilk created a website that not only looks beautiful but also really shows off what the Garden has to offer. It provides easy navigation so customers can find exactly what they are looking for quickly. Blumilk have also created an API integration that is designed especially for the Garden, that provides ease of ticket purchasing and tracking for both staff and customers. The creation of such an intricate system would have not been possible without the honest communication and relationship that The Garden and Blumilk have developed over a relatively short period of time.

We love it, the Garden loves it and we are sure you’ll love it too. Visit www.alnwickgarden.com to see the new website for yourself.
