Branding Utilities – Blumilk’s Special Relationship with SSEN

We are traveling up to sunny Scotland today to see our long-term clients and friends of Blumilk, Scottish and South Electricity (SSEN). SSE have been a long-standing client of ours over the time working together we have created a great relationship and together produced some outstanding brand, campaign, print, and digital work.

We’re very experienced in the branding of the utilities sector (we’d even call ourselves specialists) and we believe it’s the people who make up both businesses that account for our special working relationship. There’s a fine-line between Newcastle and Scottish humor, so we think this helps. We are also a very honest bunch, with both parties being open with each other around every aspect of the work.

Of course, we are here to create some truly outstanding work for our clients. A few of the highlights include our education campaign Power Pack Pals (powerpackpals.com) designed to highlight safety to school children and at the same time encourage future generations to pursue a career with SSEN. We did this with a bold brand, engaging illustrative style rollout out through teaching plans, interactive website, fun educational games, safety comic book and general awareness materials.

Each month we support Scottish and Southern Networks (SSEN) in delivering community engagement events around the Scottish Highlands. These events are designed to raise awareness with local communities around SSEN’s developments in their area. Our work for the events is flexible, but as standard involves printed documentation, local advertising, direct mail shots and large event materials including large format event banners.

Additional support comes with assisting SSEN in delivering their large-scale regulated documents, where attention to detail, creative use of style and absolute adherence to comprehensive brand guidelines is key.  This includes crafting multiple annual reports and supporting materials, including the recent RIIO T2 collateral which saw us create a 4 Year Review and 12 report documents, with sizes up to 200 pages each.

We are very proud to have such a long-standing relationship with such a great client. The relationship has been built over 3 years, and we look forward in seeing how we can grow together in the years ahead.
