A Winning Brand for The Lake Distillery
#FLASHBACKFRIDAY – The Lake Distillery
Unique and award-winning The Lake Distillery commissioned Blumilk to create a winning brand and a launch website for the company in 2013.
Blumilk approached the brief initially looking both inward and onwards, getting an in-depth understanding of both the company culture and competitors. After a comprehensive analysis of competitors and scoping sessions, mood boards were produced and the striking logo was created.
Blumilk, after producing the full brand and guidelines, developed and built its initial launch website. The brand was then rolled out over a suite of literature and applied to promotional advertising.
The journey in which the water takes in creating the whiskey is quite a special one and a story that has stuck with us over the years. The water which will give The Lakes Malt its distinctive flavour, begins its journey in the English Lake District at Sprinkling Tarn. From there, it filters down through the peaty foothills which surround Scafell Pike, the highest of the Lakes’ peaks.
Founder, Paul Currie, who co-founded the widely acclaimed, award-winning Arran distillery, is a man who has grown up in and amongst the distilling industry. Production is overseen by one of Scotland’s foremost whisky experts, Alan Rutherford, former production director at Diageo and council member of the Scotch Whisky Association.
With a such a strong team behind the company, it’s no wonder that they were awarded Winner of ‘Best Distillery Facilities’ and ‘Best Consumer Experience’ in The Global Distillery Masters 2017.
We are looking forward to their single malt whiskey, The Lakes Malt which is set to be launched in 2018. According to their website, it will take the form of a limited edition commemorative bottling to mark the first release from The Lakes Distillery for general sale and George, our Operations Director, is waiting patiently in the line.
