York St John University have an exciting new student blog created and delivered by Blumilk.  This is a refresh and update of the previous blog launched a couple of years ago.

It reflects the University’s new and successful ‘Grow With Us’ marketing campaign. It also reflects a genuine desire by the University to show off the lives and achievements of ‘real people’ – the students who’ve chosen York St John University and the City of York as an ideal place for them to study at and to live in.

The main drivers of the blog are the students themselves. It’s a blog for students, by students.

The focus is on students becoming ambassadors of the University. After all, no one knows the real place better than they do. No one can be more convincing about student life at York St Johns than they can.

Recruitment of digital ambassadors is underway. They’ll become the faces of York St John University. The ambassador team, who will be current students at the University, will monitor and deal with blog communications. Students get the opportunity to react with current students in real time.

At the heart of the fresh new look, Blumilk have created a fun, engaging student centred blog broadcasting relevant information that benefits both existing and potential students.

The blog has been specifically created to be easily accessible and highly interactive to ensure that there’s a genuine community flavour to the blog.

In essence, existing and potential York St John students now have a central place to find out about the student experience, accommodation available on or near campus and what it’s like to live in the City of York. The key is that what they are presented with is not ‘corporate marketing’ speak but what existing students think and feel, warts and all.
