Blumilk Goes Dutch
It’s traditional to keep it a secret right up to the last minute. Amsterdam was the chosen destination for the 2011 Christmas party for Team Blumilk. And what a party it turned out to be. It even topped the last successful mainland adventure to Barcelona.
It’s not all fun and games though. Well maybe it is. There’s a bit of team building with time limited tasks to be completed that involve exploring Amsterdam and locating targeted buildings across the city, engaging with locals to complete the task, taking photos and getting them printed then doing a presentation to the rest of the team. There’s also a Secret Santa gift exchange. It’s always surprising what thoughtful gifts can be bought with a strict 10 Euro limit.
Amsterdam at night is spectacular – the architecture that is. A Pizza Cruise around the canal network sorted the evening meal for everyone and opened up a new vista on the city. The one mile walk back to our hotel took a bit of time – about four hours to be precise – involving a few visits to a few interesting local pubs.
A lazy Sunday morning ended with an effortless flight back to Newcastle and an early night for everyone.
