Another Successful Reflect Awards
The Turner Prize had to take second place to the 2011 Port of Tyne Reflect Awards presentation at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead on 10 November.
Port of Tyne has been hosting the photographic and film awards since 2007 as part of the company’s commitment to the communities of North East England. The response from the public has been overwhelming.
The competition has really captured the imagination. This year saw film makers producing their own films including a Youth category to reflect the huge interest from young competitors.
Blumilk’s Operations Director, George Robertson says: “It’s been great working with Port of Tyne on Reflect since its inception. We didn’t imagine how significant it would become at that first meeting in 2006 when we first brought up the idea. All credit to Port of Tyne for growing the brand.”
